Anything I can enter into a textarea as a user which will show as bold & underline?

I need to email repeatedly to a large group using a textarea provided by the this organizing company. When I entered into the textarea, it's emailed to everyone.

They've got it set to wrap=hard so line breaks show up. But I'd really like to include text enhancement in my email to everyone. Bold and underlines would help my long list of topics, be much more readable.
