Server caot handle a change of extension form HTM to PHP

Hi All,
I have bee trying to get PHP variable values returned from my web server so that I can handle them on the client side with JavaScript. I have change a good working HTML file to have a PHP extension. There is no PHP scriping in the file as yet. I thought tyhat that this file would run on the servber in the same way as it did when its extension was HTM.

But, when I run it on tghe server I get the reply:




Any advice please?
