I'm currently looking for a way to add a 'selected' menu state to an existing WordPress template. I was initially trying to use the CSS 'active' tag however I recently realized that this refers to the state of the menu item when clicked, not when 'selected'. In laymen's terms, I want the menu item of the page I'm on to display as a different color than the other menu items.
I have never had to do this on a WordPress site before. Is there an easy way that this can be achieved? My guess is through a php script that queries the current page then creating a CSS class that I assign to this. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Cheers.
