Would you do this when parsing? String first.

When parsing, would you segment out strings first? It seems like the best decision for the markup language I'm working on, but I'm finding my approach to be able to read more languages as well. At least from what I can see from plain site. I'm wondering if it will run into any challenges when trying to catch strings and other segments in other languages. I'm pretty confident this is solid though.
