Find and Replace Regular Expressions

I want to rearrange the page layouts of my (html) website.
The layout is generic for each page and I just need to move chunks of code from one position in the page to another throughout the site.

Can I use Regular Expressions to do this?
I'd be able to identify an area of code using a RegEx but is it possible to take that code and move it somewhere else?
ie in a 'find and replace' operation

I use Dreamweaver as my code editor - it does allow Regular Expressions
Just can't see how I'd be able to use them they way I want to....

Ok - Pey dropped... I realised what was meant by a 'capturing group' which looks like it will answer my immediate problems
