^EQ and selecting multiple items

So, I'm not a Javascript programmer. I "inherited" the development duties at work for our incident management system and it requires A LOT of Java programming to get anything to work. I have run into an issue I can't find a solution for anywhere on the interwebs:

I need to select multiple items from a field called u_origin. The code the previous developer left for doing this is as follows:

u_originINE^EQ

That's great for selecting records with a u_origin code of 'E' but I need to expand this to include a second code 'Q'. How do I change this?
